ensemble consensus
Consensus is an ensemble of artists who come together to create performances via Group Listening: a practice that transforms creative prompts into music through collaborative group work. Through Group Listening, Consensus explores different ways of facilitating social interaction in order to deepen our creative capacity for collaborative music making. The core experience of any Consensus performance involves people figuring out how to create music together in real-time. The result is a blurring of boundaries between rehearsal and performance; composition and improvisation. - Leo Chang

Program notes:
In All Out, the ensemble experiments by dressing up, which then prompts musical playing. In doing so, the ensemble seeks new logics of expressions that are rooted in an abundance of identities, imaginations, fantasies, and playfulness through a performed rehearsal practice they call Group Listening.
